[opensuse] dansguardian for 11.1
Is there a recommended repo where I could get dansguardian for opensuse 11.1 x86_64? I found an RPM here: ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/home:/dvosburg/openSUSE_11.1/x86_64/dansguardian-2.10.0.2-7.2.x86_64.rpm and here: ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/suser-jmorris/suse111/dansguardian-2.10.0.2-0.1.x86_64.rpm but I was wondering if there were a more "official" repo where one could get dansguardian. As far as I know, it is not a part of the distro (wished it was :) ). Therefore, I do not think there is any "official" repo. I am the packager of the second link, and I have been using DG since 2000 in production. There are differences in our packages. Mine are designed to be stand alone packages that are as integrated into the suse way of doing things (since I have been a suse user since 6.4). AFAIK, last I checked the other packages they were more integrated into more things. They are rpms BTW, so technically you could check out both via the src rpms, or try each one to see which you prefer. Use it at your own risk, since I am not a programmer. But, it has worked for us for 8+ yrs. -- Joe Morris Registered Linux user 231871 running openSUSE 11.1 x86_64 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

So it does. The RPM of it is here: http://www.opensuse-education.org/download/repo/1.0/11.1/suse/x86_64/dansgua... and the repo for it is http://www.opensuse-education.org/download/repo/1.0/11.1/ Thanks Cristian (and Joe) for your replies. Interesting. It is also at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Education/openSUSE_11.1/x86_64/dan... and repo would be http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Education/openSUSE_11.1/ and this means it should show up in a search at http://software.opensuse.org/search and I see it is also available at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/elvigia/openSUSE_11.1 as well as http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/wberrier/openSUSE_11.1 , so I would say you have some good choices and one is semi official. -- Joe Morris Registered Linux user 231871 running openSUSE 11.1 x86_64 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If you actually did a search at http://software.opensuse.org/search for any package before you ask here, it would be real easy for you w/ links for One Click install... And I just did a search for Dansguardian and found packages for it for 10.3, 11.0, 11.1, and Factory! Choose what you want and like! My two cents... Well, as new to opensuse (haven't even installed it yet), I searched google and yahoo and came up with the links in my OP. Now that I know about http://software.opensuse.org/search, I'll be sure to look there first. BTW, I had been to http://software.opensuse.org several times and never noticed the Software Search link. All my previous looks at that page simply had me look elsewhere because I didn't want to download opensuse and that seemed to be the only thing that the page offered. I know... it's right there... still, my eye saw only what it wanted to see.
