Hi, in today's post about Picasa Marcus had a reference to an article how to set ulimit for 10.1 in order to workaround a bug in wine. My question is: how do I set ulimit for 10.0? I have a weird problem with k3b not beeng able to record DVDs because of some ulimit setting. All I have found on the web as that this can be fixed with ulimit -l unlimited. Yes, it works, but only for the current shell session, and only for root (a regular user can not set ulimit). So I ended up whenever I want to burn DVD to start a terminal, su and set ulimit and then from there to run k3b, which is annoying at least. -- -- Svetoslav Milenov (Sunny) Windows is a 32-bit extension to a 16-bit graphical shell for an 8-bit operating system originally coded for a 4-bit microprocessor by a 2-bit company that can't stand 1 bit of competition. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

I don't think this is a ulimit problem. What are the symptoms / errors you see?

If you have the ulimit package installed, in /etc/sysconfig/ulimit. (needs reboot after modification) Ciao, Marcus -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

This thread explains the problem and the solution I used. http://www.maysville-linux-users-group.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=104

OK, I'll try this.
Ciao, Marcus
