I have a pentuim III 600MHz box with SUSE 9.3. everytime I start the computer, I do not have access to the internet , but after I open YaST and let it configure network controller once, I will have it. what might be wrong? ps: my network controller is:3Com 3C509b Etherlink III.

hello, It ssems that your 3c509 is an ISA card, so the module is not loaded at boot. Add 3c509 to the INITRD-MODULES list and run mkinitrd. It worked fine for me. Michel.

Oh yes it is an ISA card, very old I think it is. but I am a newbee and cannot understand what you told me:
Add 3c509 to the INITRD-MODULES list and run mkinitrd. It worked fine for me.
could you pls give me some step by step instructions?
I will appreciate that!
