Hi again :-) I just installed SuSE 9.3. Its absolutely fantastic. How do i keep my rpm's updated? Like the version of gaim is 1.1.4, how do i get the latest version in SuSE? Do i have to install it manually? Or i can do that automatically by YaST? Back in Debian, apt-get used to take care of this. Thanks for the help -- regards, makuchaku --- http://makuchaku.blogspot.com #gnutech [at] nl.chatjunkies.org --- Linux... Life... Freedom...

the normal way to keep suse up-to-date is to use yast. fire up yast and choose "online update" in the software module. then just walk through the easy steps. or, if you want to jump straight to the updates, run "you" from a command line with root permissions and you'll be taken straight to the update module and save a few steps. hth,kk

There are certain apps that SuSE do not update until the next distro comes out and in these cases you have to roll your own or get them from rpm.pbone.net, http://packman.links2linux.org/ and another site, the name escapes me at the moment.
