Hello all, I have finally downloaded KDE 2.1 and need a little verification. This is my first time downloading anything of this sort. The FAQ says that QT-2.4 is needed, well thats fine with me because I have QT-2.7. anyway, the installation instructions clearly say: "After compiling QT compile and install KDE Support, then kdelibs. After this, any package can be compiled in any order".... OK my question is, I have downloaded all the files from http://ftp.sourceforge.net/pub/mirrors/kde/stable/latest/distribution/rpm/Su... and within all these files there are more QT files. As mentioned above, did the FAQ mean that I just needed to compile QT 2.4 which is what is required, then compile KDE support, kdelibs, and so on? Or do I need to compile all the qt files that are on the ftp server before moving on to the KDEsupport package? TIA -- D. McGlone ICQ: 96210352 AIM: dmcglone27
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hi David! I installed all of the packages (almost) from the SuSE.com site, didn't read the FAQ, opened YaST1, selected all pkgs and installed. It went on flawlessly and I didn't even need to re-tweek the sound or anything else (yet at least). I've never upgrated KDE this easy before! Cheers, ei On Saturday 28 April 2001 00:05, you wrote:
