[opensuse] nvidia-settings and xrandr
Hello list, Today I connected a monitor to the external outlet of my laptop. To get a signal out, I had to use nvidia-settings, which worked fine. After some test, I deactivated it again. However, now I'm no longer able to use xrandr to switch my display resolution! Trying to do so only results in a message Failed to change the screen configuration! This especially nasty as now e.g. games are no longer able to go 'real' fullscreen - 640x400 doesn't look impressive centered on a 1680x1050 screen :-( Is this (i.e., using both nvidia-settings and xrandr) supposed to work (how?), or how do other nvidia-settings users handle fullscreen applications? Highly recommended :-) Pit -- Dr. Peter "Pit" Suetterlin http://www.astro.su.se/~pit Institute for Solar Physics Tel.: +34 922 405 590 (Spain) P.Suetterlin@royac.iac.es +46 8 5537 8507 (Sweden) Peter.Suetterlin@astro.su.se -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Available as a package for at least openSUSE and SLE based products from the X11:Utilities repository at the openSUSE Build Service. Mabye krandr or grandr(?) are this smart to use it if a card from Nvidia is utilized? Lars -- Lars Müller [ˈlaː(r)z ˈmʏlɐ] Samba Team SUSE Linux, Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany

Uiih. I should use (web)pin more often. I only checked with zypper...
Mabye krandr
Hmm, that one I cannot find, neither with zypper, nor webpin or cnf :-( Ah, wait. That would be krandrtray. I'll have a look, thanks Pit -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
