ZIP drive at hdd4 but no /dev/hdd?
Hello, I've got everything working on my system except the ZIP drive. It is an IDE drive located at slave on the IDE1 (should be /dev/hdd?). There are no /dev/hdd? on my system. I've looked under udev in some online documentation but feel this is beyond my present knowledge. Can anyone help me "create" /dev/hdd4 (original zip format) node. Also, /etc/fstab contains no reference to /dev/hdd? which may be part of the problem. It is only hdd if it is the second device on the second ide channel. As root, `cat /proc/diskstats` The output will help you confirm where the device is. Then you should be able to mount it normally. Mark
