You should not be solving dependencies by yourself. Thats a job for a package
management program, like yast2 package manager,
Add the packman repository, and install from yast, it will solve the
dependencies for you. Its explained in here:

This is why we have YaST and smart - register online sources and try
installing with YaST or smart - but can you give us some more info?
What SuSE/OpenSuSE version?
place you got the mplayer rpm?
name of the mplayer rpm file? (in case it's for a different distro or
architecture)...
The other way, and the way I generally work with MPlayer, is to compile
from the latest svn export tarball, which is found from the Download page
at www.mplayerhq.hu .

add this url to an http installation souce in yast ftp://packman.links2linux.de/pub/packman/MIRRORS then open software in yast, search for mplayer. this will install everything you need to play probably most video and all dependencies. OR, my choice on new installs has always been to download smart from pascals guru site, http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/ and that will automatically add all installation sources you could possibly need for a "complete" box. either way. He provides a great service for the community, thanks. -- powered by OPENSuSE 10.2 athlon i386 GNU/Linux http://reillyblog.com http://norwichlinuxusersgroup.com 9:47am up 12:53, 1 user, load average: 0.07, 0.03, 0.05 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
