what happened to the SuSE folks on this list?

Hi list, when I was regularly listening and to some extent contributing to the discussions on this list a couple of years back I remember that there were some folks from SuSE who regularly contributed, mostly with technical help. I seem to remember that Lenz Grimmer and Michael Hasenstein were regulars here. What happened to them and others who don't seem to be active on the list anymore? Best regards, Alex.

Well, Mads is still around but Chris Malmood has left SuSE and isn't the admin for these lists anymore. I doubt were gonna see him around much until gets settled but even then we may not. He may get use to having his email cut by 1000% and not join with a personal email address. :) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.

LenZ now works for MySQL IIRC, and contributes on the list occasionally, not sure where MH is now, he may still be at SUSE actually, but I'm not sure. As for other SUSE/ex-SUSE people, Mads posts occasionally, myself and Ben are regulars, and Justin's weighed in the last couple of days. The thing for ex-employees is that, certainly for myself and Justin in the UK office, we were encouraged to participate in the list as part of our jobs. Now we work for other people, that's not necessarily the case. -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0). No-one else mentions this, but it says a huge amount about SuSE that ex-employees still weigh in and use SuSE (although how many used SuSE before they joined SuSE?). I still have fond memories when I worked for Penguin computing :). Maybe so much since then has been a let down, both technically and pay wise. Never been challenged enough since then. Anyway, not to go OT completely...I hope Windows2003 fails miserably in the Enterprise due to Novell/SuSE Linux. In some way everyone will have been a part of that, should it happen. Matt

It's partly a measure of our success - I for one read or at least skim the list, but recently pressure of work means that contributing more fully than that is difficult. -- ----------------------------------------- Roger Whittaker Technical Consultant SUSE LINUX Ltd Appleton House 139 King Street Hammersmith London W6 9JG tel +44(0) 20 8846 3923 mob +44(0) 7866 602 434 fax +44(0) 20 8748 0538 roger.whittaker@suse.com ----------------------------------------- simply change to http://www.suse.com
