Hello, I'm running into problems making copies of my 8.1 disk set. It's funny as I've burned Debian disks before and cdrecord wasn't an issue. Now though my burner is having issues with something. Here is the debug output. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance. Robt. /usr/bin/cdrecord: CD/DVD-Recorder not ready. /usr/bin/cdrecord: Input/output error. prevent/allow medium removal: scsi sendcmd: no error
Just something I always have to watch out for: Do you wait for the "seek light" to stop blinking after you insert the blank cd? It takes awhile for the cd-drive to recognize and accept the media after you insert it. Drives are all different, but most blink a front panel light until it is satisfied. For me it can take up to 10 seconds. Another thing, is dirty blanks, bad blanks, or "wrong speed rating" for the blanks. -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
yeah, I was laying in bed this morning wondering about a bad blank. <heh> and no the seek light would never stop blinking. Just as with anything 'check the simplist things first'... I'm burning CD # 1 right now...<sigh> thank you for the reply, the next time I can play a CD and mount and umount the cdrecorder I'll be trying a new blank. peace.
