Re: [SLE] Getting SuSE 6.2
What?!?! You can buy it directly from SuSE in Oakland for less than that with shipping! Where are you geographically? I got an ISO for 6.2 from: ftp://ftp.linuxberg.com/pub/ISO/SuSE I'll warn you though, even over a cable modem don't expect to get more than 50k/sec. The server is also limited to =<240 connections, which is a very *small* number. You might have to retry a few times. You can (theoretically) install via FTP from the SuSE server in Oakland (SuSE.com) or from VAResearch.com, but I can't even get YaST to update via FTP, so I'd be careful about trying that. -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | SuSE Linux 6.2 super-suser@eudoramail.com | Kernel 2.2.10 Kansas City, Missouri, USA | AMD K6-III 450 Moderator of LUG-KC@onelist.com http://www.onelist.com/subscribe/lug-kc On Thu, 30 Sep 1999 07:08:29 Ren West wrote:
I would like a copy of SuSE 6.2 but the only places I can find to purchase it are going to charge me insane amounts. Something to the tune of $100. Now, I already have a copy of SuSE 6.0 and like it alot, but I was hoping I could upgrade to 6.2 for some glibc2 based Linux. Does anyone know where I can download 6.2? I do not need the manuals. Could someone create an ISO image of the first ( possibly 2 ) CD(s)? I don't need all the apps either, those can be downloaded seperatly.
Or, perhaps someone knows what to get from the suse ftp server. Its seems to be quite the mess when I look at it.
