Is there an outliner program for Linux that matches the utility of the old PCOutline? The StarOffice and OpenOffice outline utility don't cut it. They aren't flexible enough. -- dj tuchler dtuchler@earthlink.net
While on the subject of office products, does anyone use MindManager and would like to see a Linux version? Even pay for it? MindJet said there was not enough market to make the port to Linux (yet). I know the owners and they would listen if there was enough interest. It is one of the few reasons why I bought VMware. I haven't written a real "outline" where I needed any extra software in over a year because of it. However, the only mind mapping software for Linux is pretty weak by comparison. Regards,
We use mind manager at work. Not much but... ...But we do not use Linux. ;-(( One reason not to use linux is that there is a lack of apps., to much training costs for linux, the generel decision is on NT4 / Office 97 (till end of 2003 at least). In the end, this is part of the chicken - egg problem: no available apps. no change. No demand /sale for apps. no port. Thats why a nice version of framemaker / linux disappeared in adobe's drawers. ;-(( Juergen

That's why I am asking! If there is enough demand then maybe they will port it. I know the owners of MindJet personally (they originally came from around Munich and now live near San Fransisco). They realize that Linux is growing, but there is simply not enough demand. Oh, well.
