[opensuse] HPLIP 3.9.8 and HP Deskjet 920C prints grey only
Hi there! Is there a known issue with HPLIP 3.9.8? I use the package from Packman for openSUSE 11.1 32 Bit. Ever since my HP Deskjet 920C only prints grey scale and no color any more... Yes, the color cartridge is full, not empty. When I test the printer with Gutenprint and Gimp it works fine with color, this suggests there is a bug in HPLIP for Deskjet series. Does anyone know how to work around this grey thing? Regards Malte -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Ha, it was just a stupid PPD issue, I just needed to copy the right PPD from /usr/share/cups/model/manufacturer-PPDs/hplip to /etc/cups/ppd and it works now again. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I had the same problem but I did not have the ppd file on my box had to download it from the net the file was missing a lot of info for that printer -- Hans Krueger hanskrueger007@roadrunner.com registered Linux user 289023 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes, it is a bit inconvinient. I think HPLIP should make a notification that the user may have to check for a good PPD file, we are probably not the only ones who wonder why the printer suddenly does not work perfectly...
