[SLE] Setting up FTPd on a local network
I have my Linux PC runnig 6.3 and connected to another machine at address 192.168.0.2. I want to make the Linux PC 192.168.0.1 an FTP host for local file transfer. Both machines have an ethernet card, the one in the Linux machine is a Trust PCI Ethernet COOMBI, the manual says its NE2000 compatable. I have got as far as specifying the card through Yast, but the console log still complains about failing to find char-major-15 when I connect from the other machine. I can connect localy on the Linux machine with the line 'ftp 192.168.0.1'. Can anyone help, tell me what I am doing wrong or missed out? I had a similar setup working when Windoze 95 was running on the Linux PC. Sorry if another mail from me asked the same question a few days ago but I had a little trouble subscribing and missed any replies. ...
