8.2 Install via ftp and Java SDK/JRE
There doesn't seem to be a Java SDK (unless jikes IS an SDK) included with the ftp-able 8.2 and OpenOffice also seems to need the 1.3.1 JRE and it is also not available. Any ideas what's up? Was it an oversight or is this by design? Coy

Coy, You can get the latest Blackdown Java jre at this location: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/projects/mozilla/jre It is the compile done with gcc 3.2 and works with the later Mozilla SuSE builds, etc. Should work fine for your OO as well. You will probably have to set your symlinks to point to it after installing, since it is not a SuSE rpm and would automatically do it for you.
