Good Points David, Isn't that just lovely and another page in Gate's attempt to squash the Linux movement. Bet the senator's pocket is full these days, wanna bet? ;-) If we as users & citizens continue to sit quietly by and let them take our freedoms, then we will certainly have to go underground or start another civil war in this country. end of line Tracer -------------------------------- On Sunday 23 September 2001 08:38 pm, David C. Hi: Well, going underground is one thing, but how? The SSSCA mandates a single door to the Internet through ICANN. Can't access Internet if your equipment is not "approved, certified, and registered." We'll need some other technology to get there. Keep in mind, any manufacturer caught trying to develop and sell analog equipment will be shot, hung, then thrown in jail. Any ideas? I checked the status of P2P, but that doesn't look like a solution. tom
