I use 1.4 and I also have low folder generating speed. One thing though: Evo 1.4 starts a lot faster than previous version. Hovever, when I had to reinstall Suse on a desktop I noticed that after 1.4 even 1.2.3 starts fast with folders generated by 1.4. If there is any tweak for folder speed, I am interested too...
