screensavers are controled where?
On my 8.1 SuSeE I run KDE. In the desktop menu I have excluded the running of the socalled screensavers. Don't know how and why but after working a little on some programs and trying to fine install things, I have now screensavers popping up after five minutes of inactivity. They consist of nice mathematical figures. Where do they come from and how can I stop them? They are not from the KDE menu because that still says that screensavers are not activated.

Did you configure something with the Gnome2 control center? This happened to me after I played with Gnome2 settings (because I switched to the new Evolution). I opened Gnome2 control center in KDE (which is what I use exclusively), made my changes and was happy. Then I walked away to do something and when I came back I saw a screensaver running. After messing around, went to Gnome2 control center and saw that screensavers were active and that particular one was set. So check this out.
