[opensuse] Calibre version
Hi, I'm trying to use Calibre on Opensuse 42.2. but it seems that the version in repositories is too old for my purposes. As I been said from Calibre bug list I should update in order to get my Kindle Oasis detected. How should I do this? Should I install as binary or should I add a new repository in case it exists? What's the best option? Thanks in advance Josep M Sole -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It's all python or something anyway. Just install it for the author's site. It works fine. -- Sent from my Android phone with K-9 Mail. Please excuse my brevity. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I install it from upstream (not really "sources"). Go to <https://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux> for instructions. Uninstall the current calibre rpm Then open a terminal, "su -" to root, and run: wget -nv -O- https://download.calibre-ebook.com/linux-installer.py | python -c "import sys; main=lambda x:sys.stderr.write('Download failed\n'); exec(sys.stdin.read()); main('/opt')" or copy the command in the page instructing to install in /opt. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
