SUSE Connectivity Server
Hi, This morning I saw a "SUSE Linux Connectivity Server" package in a local shop. I've never heard of this before. A search on SUSE's site gave me only the following: http://www.suse.com/us/company/press/press_releases/archive01/connectivity_s... Does anybody know more about it or where I can find out more? What versions of the different softwares it has, ect? Price was the equivalent of about $ 330 USD. SUSE 9.1 Pro sells for about half that, for comparison. Thanks -- Kind regards Hans du Plooy Newington Consulting Services hansdp at newingtoncs dot co dot za

It's history. The Connectivity Server was later followed by the SUSE Linux Office Server (SLOS) and later again by the SUSE Linux Standard Server (SLSTD). The Standard Server is still a recent product: http://www.suse.com/en/business/products/server/standard/ The other two (Connectivity Server and Office Server) are not even maintained anymore. Do they still sell this box? If so, where? Greetings from Bremen hartmut

Old stock probably. They had SUSE 8.0 Pro until about three months ago. In general the guys working there are completely clueless about anything you care to ask them. I just thought the Connectivity Server might be something new, because it appeared on their shelves along with SUSE 9.1 Pro (about a month ago). The URL is http://www.incredible.co.za - just for interest's sake Thanks for the info. -- Kind regards Hans du Plooy Newington Consulting Services hansdp at newingtoncs dot co dot za
