I just installed Hubert's .15 kernel and the .15 kernel told me on boot that I shouldn't load the ipchains.o because it taint's the kernel and that it has a non-GPL license and that it's a BSD license. I also loaded the NVdriver that I linked to the .15 kernel. This was the message I got when I did that. "Warning: loading /lib/modules/2.4.15-4GB/kernel/drivers/video/NVdriver.o will taint the kernel: no license" WTF is this.. So every non-kernel 3rd party driver will taint the kernel? Oh brother. The press will have a field day with this. I thought that the ipchains module was a Linux thing. BSD uses ipfilter most of the time. I could be wrong..but this was the impression I got.
