Hello,
I am trying to connect to a smb share. it works with smbclient, but when I connect with nautilus, i get "The folder contents could not be displayed.". Here is the command I am using with smbclient that is working:
smbclient -W domain -U jsmith //server01/share1/folder1
Any ideas?
Well, this is a shot in the dark, but I had a very similar problem with smbclient and Konqueror. I posted about it here, but never got any replies. Originally, my smbclient would not work either for that particular share, returning an odd Win-NT error code. Some Googling about suggested that that error code was related to the shared resource (which in my case is hosted on a Windows Server 2003 box) being a DFS (Distributed File System) system. After updating my Samba, smbclient would work, but Konqueror still gave the "cannot display" or "does not exist" error. My baseless guess is that something about DFS isn't (fully?) supported by Konqueror or Nautilus. If possible, I'd try to find out if '//server01/share1/folder1' is part of a DFS file system on a Windows server. Unfortunately, I have no idea as to how to *fix* the problem....
