It is altmbr.bin from syslinux with this modification:
echo -e -n '\004' > x ### should create x as a 1 byte binary 4 cat /usr/share/syslinux/altmbr.bin x > altmbr.4
which is then installed in the MBR. It boots partition 4, ignoring the boot mark, which is on partition 1, as you saw, which would boot Windows.
I released new bootinfoscript version that detects it and displays embedded partition number. Thank you for testing!
