Oops! Rather mind boggling, I wouldn't have thought it was necessary to run some fancy search mechanism just so one could use a graphical desktop.
So, the next question is: does this thing run by itself? If so, can it be turned off (and what would be the implications of that)? And if it can be turned off without impairing the system functionality, how would one go about doing that? I've been completely unable to find any configuration or on/off switch for baloo anywhere on the system.
so next you would consult the man pages for the baloo incantations, hint baloo<tab><tab> and investigate balooctl also you might see which of the baloo... packages can be removed w/o removing kde.... packages. use the same type of zypper search as before but w/o including *all* of the *baloo* packages. tell us what you find. or if you need more help/pointing. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
