Hi Everyone, I have been using the Konqi file manager "Audio CD Browser" to look at CDs and to encode MP3s on SuSE 8.2 and KDE 3.1.1 I have one PC with libmp3lame 3.91.1 and the other has 3.93.1 . They both encode at the same pace; roughly 30KB/S which seems to be about the speed 1X of actual CD playing speed. One PC has SMP P-III 1GHz, the other SMP P-III 1.266GHz. But both encode at the same aprox speed. Is this normal? Is this what other users see as well? I was a charted member of MusicMatch Jukebox windows s/w encoder and it runs at aprox 4.4X on a K6-III 450MHz so there is some signifigant difference here. Note all encoding done at 160 kbps. One PC has Ultra ATA dasd and the other has Ultra SCSI 40 dasd. WinXP has ATA33 Would anyone share their experiances? Thanks! .......................
