Hello,
I installed from packman : MPlayer mplayerplugin lame mad and it works with this URL.
I'm unable to do the same thing with x86_64 did someone succeed.
If you want to play, it is impossible to read videos at : http://www.wanadoo.fr
Works fine here - except for the fact that I don't understand French.
You are right, it works when you are connected through another provider. But when it is your provider you have other screens and they claim that you need : - Windows and not Linux or MacOS - Windows media player and nothing else - Internet explorer and nothing else !!!
I think the problem with X86_64 is that 64bit applications cannot use 32bit libraries like w32codecs. You could try installing the 32bit version of mplayer and it's dependencies, hopefully that will work.
I've just had to downgrade firefox 1.5 to 32bit in order to get realplayer working with it.
I don't think it is a "downgrade" as such, rather a different implementation. AFAIK, 64-bit is a long-way off from being used on the desktop. For now, unless you're running a server, stick with 32-bit. You'll be a lot happier.
I agree with you, I have two installations, the 32 bits one which is my working install and the 64 bits one for trials. But I can tell that all my equipment work with this install. At the present time I miss only mplayer in firefox. Michel.
