I also tried Carlos' suggestion of creating another user on my system and running KMail. KMail runs for that user.
I just got an idea, Kevin. Delete all the temp files for the user with the problem and restart KDE. It seems the 3.0.4 KDE doesn't like some of the leftover tmp files from before. Just a thought.
