Are your drawers too tight today?
I titled this as "Maybe OT" because on my puter running FC6 I did a Smart upgrade (maybe it wasn't too smart) and now any open GL apps (like Google Earth) will crash KDE and take me back to a login screen. I think it is because of the new GL not being compatible with my nVidia card driver, which is the latest and greatest available from nVidia for that old card.
I'm confused. Did you try to "upgrade" a FC6 to some version of SuSE Linux / openSUSE? I'd expect that to yield a mess far beyond video driver mismatch.
I thought that I was quite specific in describing the problem. I have one
computer on my LAN that is running Fedora Core 6 and I preformed an
update with Smart Package Manager. After that, open GL apps don't work
any more. Is that clear? If it had been an opensuse problem, I would not have
said "Maybe OT" in the subject line.
Now, to also answer Sloan
and this relates to opensuse how?
My assumption was that it is an upgrade problem and no matter what distro is being used, a problem with an upgrade - especially using Smart - would be something that the gurus here on the opensuse list could help with. I am surprised that wasn't obvious. Obviously I was sadly mistaken. My apologies to the group for my assumption.
