[09-13-12 03:48]: I've installed openSUSE 12.2 64 bits in the above machine with the following characteristics
Processor : Intel Core i7-3610QM Graphics : NVIDIA GT 630M
but I can't install the NVIDIA proprietary drives; either from their repositories or compiling them.
Some small hints as to *why* you are unable to install which driver version just might help as no-one here can see the workings/messages on your screen....
There are no messages in the screen. The X server starts but the screen remains black or reverts to the console display. In xorg.log the last message is "Number of created screens does not match number of detected devices."
From my several experiments, I think that I've to "turn off" the graphics
device from the processor.
experiments??? = http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/american- english/experiment_1?q=experiment The maximum extend that I could make the driver work, I had to put in xorg.conf file the PCI channel of the NVIDIA card and the Intel graphic card. I know that with this configuration the driver worked, cause the output of the lsmod command the nvidia driver was used 43 times; but the screen remained black.
Did anyone install the drives or can I get some help?
I have 304.32 installed on two boxes but different cards than yours.
