Edit the /etc/X11/XF86Config file and look for the line (mouse the
settings) and change the line for ps/2 to imps/2. That worked for me.

Every time I switch on my machine, and after KDE has loaded, the mouse wheel doesn't work. I have to enter "Administration->Yast 2 Modules->Hardware->Select Mouse Model" and press test before the wheel will work. It's a serial M$ IntelliMouse (3 buttons - middle button a wheel).
I shouldn't have to do this every time - anyone know how to stop it?
