Exactly what running system? I have only one Mac, and it has no functional operating system yet installed.
Do you not have another Linux system available? Any of them should be
You mean besides what I wrote about in what you quoted below?
When I read that, I thought you were referring to the ISO file, not the disk. However, since you've verified the disk integrity and Fedora also fails, that would make me suspect that Mac, as if there was a generic problem with that image, someone else would have mentioned it. Does that computer still boot Mac OS? If so, can you run an md5sum check on the disks, using that computer?
I corrupted the Tiger partition by refusing to stay up all night waiting for forced post-update disk optimization and pulling the plug to goto bed after the updater refused to allow the machine to shut down. Tiger won't finish a boot any more, so I need to reinstall it if I can figure out how to get SUSE to burn a Mac .dmg file to CD properly. It was all the preceeding BS that caused me to proceed to try to install SUSE on the G4 in the first place. I did get the 10.3 mini to install and work apparently OK other than corrupted tty[2-6] and inability to reach tty[1-6] after X is started. I have a borrowed HD with 9.2, and it boots and runs fine AFAICT, but I can't seem to find more than a token amount of apps, those in the recently run folder. I have no idea if it might be able to run md5 or anything not in 9.2's recent folder. -- "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry."
