Lately, whenever I burn a data DVD with K3B, the program goes through all the motions as if it's correctly burning and verifying the DVD. Yet when I examine the disk that's been burned, Konqueror tells me the disk I just burned is blank.
I have the DVD Drive working again. Today, I went back to re-examine the problem, and trying burning some .mp3 files to dvd. I burned a folder, everything seemed fine, and then when i reinserted the DVD, K3B told me I had inserted a blank DVD. But I noticed that it picked up the name of the folder I had burned, so clearly it was not blank. So I went back and looked at all the settings for K3B. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but I noticed that in Advanced, Miscellaneous, the setting for Do not eject medium after write process was NOT checked. As an experiment, I turned it on (checked the box). This time everything finished normally and the DVD showed that it had data files on it. I don't fully understand this result, but I wonder if someone else can investigate this also. Bob
