Hello I am trying to dial in to the university where I attend.
Here is the log of what happens when I do. KPPP gives me a similer log,... They act like they are trying to shake hands but fail.
ASIDE: I thought that since I had to put S32=98 in the windows dial up networking "my connection" Advanced / special instructions that it was possibly something that I would have to emulate in Suse , but I just connected with my laptop which has suse 7.2 and it is connecting just fine, and it has no such . By the way, the laptop is gone, so I cannot provide you with any info from it,...I tried to copy the settings and all were the same--but it worked and this does not.
Dear Forrest, I'm not too familiar with KPPP, but with wvdial, you set parameters by editing file /etc/wvdial.conf. Before you edit this file, or any other configuration file, I suggest backing it up: cp wvdial.conf wvdial.conf.old If you need to pass a parameter S32=98 to your modem, you'll probably want to put it on this line: Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 L1 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 I don't think it matters where you put it on this line, as long as it's after ATO0 but maybe it should also be before +FCLASS=0. regards, Robert Storey
