kerned 2.6.34 is the official release version for 11.3. If you choose to use a newer kernel from elsewhere you need to compile the nvidia driver from source.
...or install it using the *.run file from the nvidia website. this will also compile the module according to your installed kernel, but it'll do all the work for you. it's sometimes called "installing nvidia proprietary driver the hard way," even though it isn't very hard. you have to have your kernel's source installed though, and need a few basic development packages. you find information about the process in this list & on the openSUSE wiki. -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
