Is there a required minimum memory for openSUSE 64 bits installation ? I am trying to install openSUSE in VirtualBox, but with 128 MB of RAM the installation fails.
a) Try to add a swap partition before you start the installation. Boot the rescue system and do the required partition steps + mkswap. b) As it is a virtual system set the memory to 256 or 512 MB while install and lower it afterwards. But this all at the end depends of the intended use case. 11.2 works on a i586 133 MHz based system with 32 MB RAM very well as a gateway. While the update stack (libzypp/ zypper) is useable. It was even possible to move the system online from 11.1 to 11.2. As this is a very, very minimal system it only took 30 minutes to download and install the packages.
