Hello all readers,
I have a epson stylus color 440 printer.
Great printer; I have one myself ;).
I can print ok in Black but not in color any help appreciated. I'm using Suse 6.2
Remove the /etc/aps* and /etc/printcap* files, and use YaST to configure the device. System Administraton, Integrate Hardware, Printer Configuration. Put an X (space bar) in color, Other Printer Type, `stcolor', lp0 (for first parallel port), 360x360; that's it :). On a side note, the GhostScript that SuSE is allowed to ship does not talk to stcolor devices consistently at resolutions > 360x360. For this, you'll need to go the the FTP global update site (the location escapes me), and download the new versions of apsfilter and ghostscript. For licensing purposes, SuSE cannot ship these packages on the CD, but they are freely available for download. -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
