I'm using gFtp and Suse 10. I upgraded to Suse 10 about 3 months ago. Before that I used Suse 8.1 and IglooFtp. Transfering files with gFtp is very slow compared to IglooFtp. Is that normal?
Is there anything I can do to speed up the operation of gFtp?
Or, can anyone recommend an ftp client that is faster than gFtp?
I use gFtp on SuSe 10 and it works quite normally here: no faster or slower than anything else. I guess you could delete it and its config files, then reinstall (or download a new rpm from a different source) - in case you have a bad installation/source files. Maybe one of the settings in the Options dialogs has got changed? The only other client I use is Kftpgrabber. This can do encrypted ftp but it seems to be in early days and isn't so reliable as gFtp. :) Fish
