I am not using the udma66 at all so no need for the patch. I have included
the boot.msg from my UP 2.2.13 kernel that works w/ a marker at the
spot that the default and 2.2.14 kernels both reboot. I can't find any
messages
detailing what happened

I have seen this topic both in the kernel archives and here but now that
I need the information, I can not find it. Every time I boot w/ a SMP kernel (tried the stock SuSE one and rolled my own 2.2.14) it gets to the IDE setup (right after it identifies the IDE devices) and then reboots. How do I fix this?

Are you using UDMA-66 drives for booting? If so, did you include the patch?
I am using the same setup (BP6 and SMP) with 2.2.14 kernel and used the stock SuSE kernel(SMP version) without UDMA support. Both work fine.
What exactly does it say before reboot?
