OK, I've narrowed the problem down to Apparmor. It is preventin fusermount from functioning properly. Unfortunately I've been unable to come up with an fusermount profile that will work. I've created and recreated, deleted and updated every way I can think of and I still get the "Operation not permitted" error from fusermount through truecrypt.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Follow-up I worked with AppArmor for a long time last night with no luck. Same problem when executing the mount from Truecrypt...
Have you looked at the mount options? It is possible that the options do not allow you to execute commands on that drive.
