Hello, Have used 'dd' in the past to copy one hard disk to another and boot off new drive, however I must be overlooking something. Running from a DVD in Rescue-Mode, I can modify /boot/grub/menu.1st to boot from /dev/sda1 and the root is on /dev/sda3, but once I reboot I get the Grub menu showing which kernel to boot, default or failsafe, yet the next screen shows; doing a fast boot Creating device nodes with udev Waiting for device /dev/sda3 to appear ... could not find /dev/sda3. In Repair mode I can mount /dev/sda3 and all the contents are there. Any ideas how I can fix this? As of now I can't boot. Thank you in advance.
