I use ZM version 1.30.4 on Leap 15.0, 20 1280x780 pixel 10 fps IP cameras outdoors, 2 Gbps bonded network port. All works very well. Biggest challenge is dancing shadows of leafed out trees giving false triggers of motion clips. If anyone has solved that problem, I'd be glad to know. ZM help is rich with help, even talking about dancing shadows. But no guidance given works well. Does anybody use ZoneMinder? I'm thinking of buying some cameras for security and using ZM to control and monitor them. I'm hoping that is a sane idea. I'm planning to store motion-activated video clips locally at the camera and on disks somewhere in my and my friends' networks.
I see there is an experimental release for Tumbleweed but only community releases for Leap. There are a couple of home repositories, and one (monex) seems to have conflicting ideas about what is stable vs unstable depending on what version of openSUSE you are running. Do either monex or ecos read this list? Or am I better downloading the source and building it myself?
