Basil in an earlier post today reminded me that Patrick had suggested a fix but as I said in reply I have not followed that up. I just locked 42.2 to the older LO version that foes what I want, which is pretty trivial in the wider scheme of things as in using BS Charter in my small number of LO documents.
Long term you will need a better solution than locking down v5.2.x. 42.3, due for release next week, has only 5.3.x (and likely will goto 5.4.x or beyond during its lifetime). Support for 42.2 will end 6 months later.
Surely as old as Charter is there must by now be an available metric equivalent to it in ttf and/or otf format. At smaller sizes, Thorndale AMT from the old SuSE agfa-fonts rpm looks very close to it to me. At larger sizes, Charter is simply larger at any given nominal size. http://fm.no-ip.com/Auth/Font/font-droidserif.html http://fm.no-ip.com/Auth/Font/fonts-comps-amtlibnim.html
I have no doubt of any of that. Its only a font. I'll look into it further in a while. M -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
