Tried your suggestions but it seems it's not working yet. Viewing the log of Kinternet it there appears two lines pppd: local IP address 192.168.99.1 pppd: remote IP address 192.168.99.99 It also mentions a ppp0 interface. That I don¹t know where they come from since I don't have those addresses on my network. Why is so difficult to configure this on Suse. I have prior experience on Mandrake 8.0 and it worked beautifully. I want to stay on Suse, but for that I must have the adsl connection working. Anyone ? Hi,
Trying to figure how to configure properly my adsl connection but having trouble. I hope someone on this list can help. [...]ne. Not on Suse. Tried to configure the ADSL Yast2 module but I never get a connection. I'm trying to use Kinternet. Reading the Suse manuals that are included with 7.3 they refer to pppoed but I don't see that in /etc/init.d/, I only see smpppd.
Can anyone help me with the this config ?
1. install rmpppd 2. in /etc/pppoed.conf Yast@ will do:
" # ppp over ethernet # autogenerated for ADSL from SuSE YaST2
# the interface interface = "eth0"
# user and password user = "user-id" # it is user ID smoetimes != e-mail-ID password = "*******"
# dial on demand demand = "yes" idle = "3660" dns1 = "999.999.999.999" # insert your dns1 and dns2 dns2 = "999.999.999.999"
3. in /est/rc.dialout YaST2 will do, but:
" ADSL_NAME_0="ADSL" ## !!! this one is setup by Yast2 as T-DSL or smethong ## chenged to ADSL ADSL_DEVICE_0="eth0" "
And you are OK A Merry Christmas to all. Julo
