I'm using the crippled Suse 8.2 version. Is there a directory that I can add to the suse installer to get these rpm's so that they are kept up to date?
Yes. There are daily xine updates at: http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/
And an easy faq to tell you what to do. BTW which is the crippled Suse 8.2 version? I've not seen it advertised. Cheers and happy viewing. Steve.
I'm curious. Is MPlayer any better under suse 8.2?
I need a player, I don't care which.
No, Mplayer is no better. A fully functional xine seems to do most everything correctly. It's often better to uninstall the xine that comes on the SuSE disks before getting the one frpm pacman or cambuca as there are fewer conflicts. Other hints you may need: In YAST sysconfig there is a setting that allows you to set your dvd drive to dma mode. You want this set on or you will get herky-jerky video. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
