I'm about to set up a new Linux server at work using SuSE 7.0. I was thinking of using Reiser FS rather than ext2. However, I realize that this is a fairly new file system and was wondering whether it is OK for production use. Are there any limitations or problems with using this file system ? It would certainly be nice not to have to worry about power failures and potential loss of data.
Lilo if you're using it. You will need to set the notail option on / . The new version of lilo released a week or two ago claims notail isn't needed anymore but it also needs a newer version of Reiser. But notail isn't a real problem. How hard is it to add six letters to one file once?
