Have a look at: /etc/splashy/themes/openSUSE/theme.xml
I believe that's the boot splash, or possibly both. It appears to be configured by "splashy_config", and the man says: ] Splashy - a user-mode, POSIX and LSB compliant, boot splashing system ] for UNIX. If it is the boot splash, I don't want to disable it. If it is both, I don't know how to disable the hibernate splash. The boot splash is disabled in "/etc/sysconfig/bootsplash". I have seen no single config file for hibernate splash screen. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
