Is it possible to have a secondary video card, so that the output of xine or vlc or mplayer goes only there, while we can continue working as usual on the main display?
My 2nd display *IS* my flatpanel TV on the wall. With the right video card you don't need a 2nd one... depends on what you do on the first one at the same time. How easy it is to configure on linux: dunno. But an Nvidia 590 can handle 3 screens w/o too much difficulty. My TV screen is where I watch media. But I use windows to control my desktop (and by extension -- my multimedia). If I configure the sound correctly I can use some other sound app (music, game) on 1st screen w/headphones and let the movies playing on the 'TV' play their sound through the "stereo" (a home theater decoding system that plays the sound (up to 7.1) while passing the video through to the screen. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
