After logging out, the only way to proceed to a new login screen is to press the power button and restart. I've tried logging in as root on a console and issuing init 5, but nothing.
Could you give more details? After you log out, what happens? Are you presented with GUI login screen, empty screen, command line login prompt? You say "press power button" but then "logging as root on console"; so it is possible to log as root? Because "press power button" sounds like system is completely frozen.
I've put the log here: https://db.tt/oeqO2hS1
At which point you took it? Was it after you logged out?
Any ideas why we can't log in again after a logout? Thanks, L x
