Listmates, Gremlins in my 10.3 server again. I went to edit a crontab and to my surprise, a blue screen editor appeared and I had no idea how to get out of it so I just hit ctrl+c to exit. Further investigation revealed that "joe" was now my default editor? joe who? Now I have an additional piece of environment set to "_=EDITOR". I killed it with "unset _". More troubling is how did "EDITOR=/usr/bin/joe" get set in the first place? This is a basic 10.3 server (Linux nirvana 2.6.22.18-0.2-default). I like vi, I wouldn't change it. More frustrating, this seems to be set every time I open a new shell. I exit a shell, su to reopen another, and the thing is set to joe again. Where do I fix this for good? Thanks. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
