It is clear that the SUSE 10.1 update program has corrupted the harddrive partition.
That is actually far from clear.
What can I do to fix the machine??
Boot into a rescue system from the installation CD or DVD. None of your physical partitions will be mounted, so you can safely attempt repairs. You have a problem with the reiserfs file system on /dev/hda2, so run this: reiserfsck --check This won't do anything, but it should give you some instructions. If it does, follow them. Otherwise, try this: reiserfsck --fix-fixable -- The best way to accelerate a computer running Windows is at 9.81 m/s² -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
